Peugeot design director Matthias Hossan made the following remarks regarding the car’s distinctive styling: “Given that the 9X8 is a Peugeot, the original sketch that served as the inspiration for our work showed a big cat poised to pounce, which we have suggested by the cockpit’s slight forward tilt. The shapes as a whole convey the brand’s styling cues, while the forms’ svelte, racy, and elegant shapes arouse emotion and dynamism.”

A 2.6-liter twin-turbo V6 engine mounted in the rear-midship and paired with a 286-bhp electric motor mounted on the front axle power the 9X8 underneath the bodywork. The rear wheels are driven by the combustion engine through a seven-speed sequential gearbox.

Interior
“We had to demonstrate in our design that the technology of the PEUGEOT 9X8 is entirely a PEUGEOT Sports creation. We wanted to give it a distinctive attitude while maintaining the idea of a streamlined body, which contrasts with the extremely geometric endurance cars of the previous generation, says Matthias Hossann. We did this without sacrificing performance.

The 9X8’s cabin, which is based on the brand’s iconic i-Cockpit concept, is another evocative example of PEUGEOT’s know-how and style. Similar to a series model project, the attention paid to the interior’s design was only surpassed by the rigorous standards demanded of the exterior: the driver and the viewers in front of their screens must feel without a doubt that they are in a PEUGEOT.
