The SUV faces competition from the Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, and MG HS PHEV. It has a well-known 1.5-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that generates 285 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque and 167 horsepower (hp). But when the electric motor’s output is combined, it produces a respectable 240 horsepower and 530 Nm of torque.

Its combined output in the plugin-hybrid version is 326 PS and 530 Nm. The variations use Haval’s 2-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT), which employs twin planetary gearsets to modulate power between the engine and the electric motor, to send power to the front wheels.
