The A5’s cabin is stylish, modern, and well-built, and the design will undoubtedly stand the test of time. At least for front-seat passengers—the rear seat is cramped—the A5’s cabin is comfortable, and the design will undoubtedly stand the test of time. Every component of the A5’s interior exudes quality.

The seat bottoms are narrow, but they give adequate comfort and support for extended highway drives, and a manual thigh extension should satisfy long-legged passengers. Everything appears to be well-made, long-lasting, and robust.
The only thing missing is a sense of opulence. The armrests are minimally padded, while other high-end features such as heated rear seats and a power-adjustable steering wheel are simply absent. The coupe’s spacious trunk and flexible, flat-folding rear seatbacks, on the other hand, provide an unexpected amount of cargo space.
With the back seats folded, we were able to fit 16 carry-on suitcases inside. It’s a shame the different storage bins and cubbies aren’t more functional. Smartphones, food, and other tiny items will readily fit, while bulkier stuff like big water bottles will be left without a home.

While we haven’t had the opportunity to test the turbocharged 2.0-litre with the new 12-volt hybrid system in the 2022 A5, we’re fascinated by the increased output from 248 to 261 horsepower. Older nonhybrid models with lower output proved to be lightning-fast, reaching 60 mph in under 5.0 seconds just 0.6 seconds slower than the 400-hp Infiniti Q60 Red Sport.
When cruising, the A5 is composed and planted, but on twisting roads, the A5 comes alive; accurate, well-weighted steering complements the suspension’s agility, and the A5 is easy to drive rapidly. The Quattro all-wheel-drive technology also helps, balance the chassis and deliver flawless power delivery out of tight turns.
