- Turn the engine off.
- Remove the battery’s negative battery cable.

- Remove the bolts that hold the starter to the block with a ratchet.
- Remove anything else that is holding the starter to the block.
- Remove the old starter.
- Start the engine using the new starter.
- Connect the positive battery cable to the starter once again.
- Bolts should be used to secure the new starter.
- Connect the negative cable to the battery once more.
