Opel Cross Country 2022 Price in Pakistan, Specs & Features. You’ve probably forgotten the Vauxhall Meriva. Most have. Small MPVs used to be a thing, but buyers deserted them a few years ago for small SUV-crossovers. Opel Cross Country Latest Model Price in Pakistan.

Even if those people want a crossover, an MPV might still actually be a whole lot more useful to them. They want rugged looks, but they need space and versatility, and fuel economy. So the Crossland is, in short, a mini MPV disguised as a crossover.

It doesn’t take much to penetrate the subterfuge, though. The freshly updated Crossland is a better-looking car than the one that came out in 2017, with Vauxhall’s ‘Vizor’ front-end styling treatment as seen on the smart, all-new Mokka (get used to that new face, because before long all Vauxhalls will look like this).

But it still has an MPV’s pudgy boxiness. It’s a bulky-bodied, narrow-looking thing on relatively small wheels, without much ground clearance. There’s no four-wheel-drive option, nor does there need to be in this class.

The priority is cabin space and family-friendliness, fitted into a town-friendly length that’s 16cm shorter than an Astra’s. Adventurism is so far down the list as to have more or less dropped off the page. BTW we’re not slagging off Vauxhall’s strategy here. It’s hardly unusual. If you want 4×4 drive and higher ground clearance and punchier towing-friendly engines, they’ll happily sell you a Grandland instead. Opel Cross Country Price in Pakistan 2022.

Exterior

We believe the entry-level Vauxhall Crossland 83PS model will be the least efficient in the real world. To get anywhere, you’ll have to put in a lot of effort, and the lack of a sixth gear means it’ll be screaming along at highway speeds. Officially, it gets up to 47.9 miles per gallon. Because turbocharged petrol engines take less effort, they are more likely to reach official fuel economy figures of 46.3 to 49.5 mpg.

That’s decent, while mild-hybrid alternatives like the Ford Puma are somewhat more fuel-efficient.
Look at the diesel variants if you’re looking for a fuel-efficient small SUV. We wouldn’t recommend these for city driving or frequent short trips, but the 1.5 110 has a top speed of 61 mph.

Your money will go further on the used market, though – and we’re not necessarily talking about cars that are a few years old. Just £17,000 will get you a choice of pre-registered cars in desirable trim levels. This means you can be driving away in an as-new car from a Vauxhall dealer within a matter of days – and saving thousands of pounds in the process.

If your budget won’t stretch that far, don’t fear. A three-year-old Vauxhall Crossland represents excellent value for money, with early examples now available for just £8000. That gets you a Crossland X SE with the 1.2-liter petrol engine with lower than average miles on the clock.

One thing that’s not great in town is the car’s bouncy ride and it doesn’t improve as you get up to higher speeds on the motorway, the way the Crossland pogos from one bump to the next can make it feel a touch unstable.

Unsurprisingly, it’s not a lot better when you get onto a country road where you’ll pay the price for the car’s light steering. It makes it hard to place the Vauxhall going into corners and tricky to detect when the limits of grip are running out. Factor in significant body lean and a baggy-feeling manual gearbox and, it’s fair to say, this isn’t a car you’re going to hustle about for fun. Opel Cross Country 2022 Price in Pakistan.

Interior

The updated Crossland, now without the ‘X’, is still built on the same platform as the last-gen Peugeot 2008. So while the Crossland broadly looks and feels like a Vauxhall, those familiar with Peugeots will spot a few common components. The key and infotainment system, for example.

The Crossland was actually designed and developed as part of a joint venture between General Motors (Vauxhall’s then-owner) and PSA (Peugeot, Citroen, and DS’s parent company). Then, just as the Crossland went on sale, PSA went and bought the whole Vauxhall/Opel brand from the Americans. Since then PSA has merged with FCA (Fiat, Chrysler, Jeep, Alfa Romeo, etc…) to form Stellantis – the world’s fifth-largest carmaker.

This is a facelift, remember, not an all-new car. An incremental refresh, before an all-new Crossland, erm, lands in a couple of years’ time. Besides the new styling, which extends from the totally new front end to the lightly resculpted rear, the updated Crossland also offers revised suspension and steering, new tech, and various minor changes to the interior.

Instead of a digital instrument binnacle with gorgeous graphics and slick animations, you get white-on-black analog dials and traditional buttons for the ventilation system and stereo, so you don’t have to search through the infotainment screen.
With a logical layout, responsive screen, and excellent images, it’s a decent system. It doesn’t protrude from the console as some cars do, making it a little more difficult to view while driving, but you might enjoy the way it’s nicely blended into the dashboard.
