Exterior
Despite the cosmetic and technological changes, the powertrain of the MG5 EV remains unchanged. It has the same 61.1kWh battery pack and 154bhp electric motor that drives the front wheels and has a maximum range of 249 miles. According to MG, the new MG5 EV can tow up to 500kg.
However, MG has plans for a new entry-level variant of the 5 EV. Later in the car’s life cycle, a variant with a 50.3kWh battery will be available, reducing the EV’s maximum range to 199 miles. However, pricing and a release date for the new powertrain have yet to be announced.

Interior
The SE includes the ‘MG Pilot’s driver safety system as standard, as well as automatic LED headlights and taillights, roof rails, a rear parking camera, and adaptive cruise control. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also supported. Trophy upgrades to a leather interior with electric seat modification and heated front seats automatic climate control, rain-sensing wipers, and a 360-degree camera.
