Every Q8 is equipped with a turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 engine that produces 335 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. It comes standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. A 48-volt hybrid-assist system aids stop-start operation, which we found to be smooth and quiet. While the Audi had strong passing power on the main road, it felt hesitant around town unless we pushed hard on the gas pedal.
The transmission’s responses were mostly dutiful, but it and the engine worked best together in Dynamic mode, which produced snappier responses. We only wish the engine and exhaust made more aggressive noises. When properly equipped, the Q8 can tow up to 7700 pounds.

Interior
Audi has created a sophisticated and durable environment inside the Q8 in typical Audi fashion. The materials are high-quality, and the panels are precisely aligned. While the base model lacks upscale features like four-zone climate control and a leather dashboard with contrast stitching, it does include heated front seats and a panoramic sunroof as standard.
Only the top-tier model comes with massaging front seats, improved leather surfaces, and quieter a double glass. All of this, plus a head-up display and customizable ambient interior lighting, was available in our test vehicle. The Q8 is not only visually appealing, but it also has plenty of passenger space. Despite its elevated height, the driving position remains sporty, and two adults can stretch out in the back.
